Due to the intimate nature of our event and space limitations:
- All attendees must have a purchased ticket to participate or be seated in the event space
- Event capacity is strictly limited to registered guests
- Everyone must wear their event badge (provided at check-in) at all times for security purposes
We take the safety and comfort of our attendees seriously, which is why we maintain strict access control through our badge system. Only registered, badge-wearing guests will be permitted in the event spaces.
If your spouse or friend would like to attend, they'll need to purchase their own ticket to the event (subject to availability).
The card swap is an essential part of our event that leads into one of our Saturday games! Here's what you need to know:
- Bring a minimum of 10 handmade cards to swap (there's no maximum if you'd like to bring more!)
- Cards will be swapped one-for-one with other attendees
- All cards should be handmade by you
- This activity connects directly to our Saturday game, so participation is important
The card swap is a wonderful way to share your creativity, get inspired by other crafters' styles, and collect unique handmade cards. Plus, your swapped cards will play a special role in one of our Saturday activities - you won't want to miss out!
You should also have an extra available to post on our Card Table so we can all see everyone's work!
Tip: Make sure to create your cards before arriving at the event, as the swap happens before the Saturday game.
Due to venue capacity and seating arrangements, the gala is limited to registered guests only. The ballroom is specifically set up to accommodate our Paperganza attendees, and we cannot modify the layout or add additional seats.
Get ready to make room in your suitcase for the trip home! Every attendee will receive:
- A generous swag bag filled with crafting goodies
- Special gifts from our event sponsors
- A chance to win bigger prizes through our random prize drawings
We'll be doing raffle-style giveaways where every attendee has an equal chance to win some amazing crafting prizes. No need to buy tickets - your event registration automatically enters you in all prize drawings!
Remember to leave some space in your luggage or consider having a shipping option available for your return trip - you might be going home with more than you came with! 😊
Each pod of 8 crafters will have the opportunity to collaborate on a theme and decorations for their crafting space. After you're connected with your podmates, you can work together to:
- Choose a fun table name/theme
- Plan simple or elaborate decorations (whatever suits your group!)
- Coordinate who brings what
While some pods might go all out with elaborate decorations, there's no pressure to do so! The goal is to make your crafting space feel festive and welcoming in whatever way works for your group. Whether you keep it simple with a themed table sign or transform your pod into a mini wonderland, the choice is yours and your podmates to make together.
What to avoid:
- Please do not obstruct the views of others
- No latex balloons
- No arches or tall decorations
Remember - the main focus is creating a fun environment where you'll be comfortable crafting all weekend. Your pod's theme can be as minimal or maximal as your group decides!
All tickets will be automatically refunded if an event is cancelled. The refund will be processed to your original payment method.
Please note that we cannot provide refunds for events that are still scheduled to take place.
Yes! All ticket holders will receive a survey where they can specify their dietary requirements. Our venue has assured us they can accommodate all dietary needs.
Yes! There is a fridge and microwave in every guest room, but you won't be able to bring your food to the ballroom per the hotel's rules.
While there will be open crafting time, this is much more than a traditional crop! Your schedule will be filled with engaging activities including:
- Four instructor-led classes
- Afternoon games on Friday and Saturday
- Live Craft Roulette taping
- Evening entertainment events
- And more FUNN surprises!
You're welcome to bring personal projects for the open crafting periods, but it's not necessary. We've planned plenty of creative activities to keep you engaged throughout the event. The focus is on learning new techniques, playing games, and creating together rather than working on individual projects.
Think of this as an immersive crafting experience where most of your creative time will be guided by our planned activities. The open crafting periods are there to give you flexible breaks between our scheduled events, whether you want to work on personal projects, practice techniques from your classes, or just chat with your FUNN FRIENDS!!
The Kansas City Airport Marriott provides complimentary shuttle service to and from the airport terminals. The shuttle operates 24/7 on a first-come, first-served basis - no reservations needed! Shuttles depart from the hotel every 20 minutes (on the hour, :20, and :40).
To help ensure smooth transportation for everyone, we'll be collecting arrival times through our pre-event survey. This will allow us to coordinate with the hotel when larger groups of attendees are expected to arrive. While this coordination helps the shuttle service prepare, remember you can still hop on any shuttle when you arrive - no need to wait for a specific time.
Note: The pre-event survey will be sent to all registered attendees closer to the event date.
